What makes this incident of particular interest is that it was captured on film by a dashboard mounted camera in the Sonata, which is something we don't remember seeing before in crashes relating or alleged to be related to sticky accelerator pedals.
The 30-second long clip shows the Korean sedan stopped at a light with a previous generation Hyundai standing in front when the Sonata appears to accelerate. At this point, we hear a conversation from the driver and passengers as well as a sound that may or may not be from the handbrake being lifted.

Due to a faulty repaired wiring harness, Ford USA has announced that it is recalling 225,000 MY 1992-2003 Econoline, MY 1993-1995 Taurus SHO, MY 1992-1998 Crown Victoria, MY 1993 Bronco, F-Series, MY 1995-1997 F-Series Super Duty Stripped Chassis, MY 1992-1998 Mercury Grand Marquis, and MY 1992-1995 Lincoln Town Car vehicles.The affected vehicles above were previously repaired using a wiring harness that is not compatible with the vehicle circuit polarity. In other words, the fuse is located in the output circuit rather than in the intended input power feed circuit, thus it may not offer the intended protection in the event of an electrical short to ground. Ford dealers will install a new wiring harness, or replace the mating electrical component at no extra cost. Owners may contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673 for more information.
The Japanese carmaker has issued a recall for 16,365 MY 2008 Infiniti EX35 and MY 2009 Nissan Murano vehicles due to incorrect software programming of the airbag control unit (ACU). The faulty software could result in the passenger airbag not inflating in a crash in which it was designed to do so thus increasing the risk of injury. Nissan and Infiniti dealers will reprogram the ACU in affected vehicles at no extra cost. 
Jeep has issued a recall for 1,338 MY 2008 Grand Cherokee and Commander vehicles because of an incorrectly manufactured front control module that could cause the engine to stall while driving or not to start and/or cause the windshield wipers to become inoperative. Now that’s something that none of you would appreciate. Jeep dealers will inspect the module and replace it if necessary at no cost.
Usually, when we write about recalls, it concerns at least, hundreds of owners. But that’s not the case with Bentley. The British carmaker announced that it's recalling four –yes, that right 4, MY 2004 - 2006 Continental GTs & Continental Flying Spurs because the passenger airbag replacement trimmed covers have been manufactured with tethers of an incorrect length. In the event of a crash, this could result in damage to the airbag itself during deployment increasing the risk of injuries. Bentley dealers will replace the passenger's airbag cover free of charge.
General Motors has announced a recall on MY 2005-2007 Cadillac CTS, SRX, STS, MY 2006-2007 Pontiac Solstice, and MY 2007 Saturn Sky models. A total of 275,936 vehicles are involved in the recall over a faulty rear axle pinion seal that does not meet all of the specifications and may experience a fluid leak. A rear differential failure may cause loss of motive power and possibly loss of vehicle control increasing the risk of a crash. The recall is expected to begin during February 2008 with GM dealers replacing the pinion seal at no extra cost.
As many as 34,300 2007 & 2008-Model-Year Honda Fit compact vehicles are being recalled to fix the sensor that detects the presence of a child seat or an out-of-position passenger. The recall affects Fit vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of In those States where road salt is used, salt from the snow on the driver's shoes will melt and penetrate the carpet and leak into the wire harness for the occupant detection system (ODS) and the occupant position detection system (OPDS) which is routed underneath the carpet on the driver's side floorboard. That may lead to corrosion and the wire may break.
A failure of the ODS and OPDS may not detect the presence of a child seat or an out-of-position passenger and deployment of both the front seat passenger's frontal and side air bags will not be suppressed. The recall will begin this month (Jan. '08).
Well that was fast; Maserati announced its first recall on the MY 2008 GranTurismo. In all, 56 vehicles equipped with the advanced passenger seat air bag weight sensor system will be recalled by the Italian carmaker due to a malfunction in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electronic control unit (ECU) software when the battery is not fully charged. In the event of a crash, the passenger side air bag and passenger seat belt pre-tensioner may not deploy increasing the risk of injuries. Maserati dealers will replace the SRS ECU units as necessary. The recall is expected to begin this month (January 2008).
We couldn’t resist not posting this recall: 
GM announced a recall involving 57,100 MY 2007 Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent SUVs not equipped with optional roof rail airbags or optional sunroof. During NHTSA impact tests of these specific models, the interior occupant protection test points exceeded the standard requirements. The results of this test indicated a possibility of an increased risk of head injury in a crash. The recall is expected to begin during January 2008 with GM dealers installing an energy absorbing foam piece to each of the a-pillar trim assemblies.
