Volkswagen Adds More Practical Five Door Model to Up!'s UK Lineup


Prices for the five-door body style of the Volkswagen up! have been announced for the UK market. The new Up! 5d costs £365 more than the less practical but otherwise identical three-door model, with on-the-road prices starting from £8,360.

Volkswagen expects that the five-door models will make up just over half of all up! sales.

South Korean Video Alleges Chevrolet Accident Caused by Brake Failure


Here's another automobile accident caught on camera in South Korea that is being blamed on a mechanical failure.

Whereas the two previous (unrelated) incidents from the country involving a BMW and a Hyundai Sonata YF were allegedly linked to a sticky accelerator pedal issue, this one is claimed to have occurred due to brake failure.

Ferrari to Restore Steve McQueen's 275 GTB4 to its Original Coupe Body


A rare Ferrari 275 GTB4 that originally belonged to fabled American movie actor Steve McQueen, who took delivery of the Italian sports car in San Francisco while filming the 1968 movie Bullitt, has been sent to Ferrari Classiche for a complete restoration.

Judicial Facepalm: Minutes After Judge Frees Car Burglar, he Breaks Into her Car…


The story of Phillip Bernad is one of those that makes you question a person's sanity and their common sense, or lack thereof.

The 32-year old man was in Community Court in San Francisco this past Tuesday for a check of his progress after an auto burglary conviction.

Even though Bernad had violated his probation by missing an earlier court appearance, Judge Lillian Sing let him off with a warning sign, while telling him that she wasn't happy and that he "had better get into a harm reduction program and get going with a job search," the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Top Gear Live Stunt Team to Attempt Record Breaking Double Loop-The-Loop Feat in South Africa


The traveling version of the famed Top Gear TV show, which has entertained some 1.2 million viewers in 17 cities around the world over the past years, is almost here, as the next Top Gear Live Festival will take place in the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa, from June 16 to 17.

New VW Beetle Diesel with up to 41mpg Priced from $23,295* in the States


The third and by far the most fuel efficient model in the new VW Beetle's U.S. lineup, the new TDI clean diesel, has finally been priced following a previous announcement about its availability in the States in February.

Prices for the new Beetle TDI start at $23,295 for the six-speed manual gearbox model and at $24,395 for the six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission option, with all prices excluding a destination charge of $770 (*).

BMW Group Records its Best Ever May Sales Result Despite European Crisis


The deterioration in the European economy hasn't left the BMW Group unscathed, but the premium German automaker more than compensated for the loss of sales in its home market in May with strong gains in Asia and to a lesser extent in America.

In fact, with 156,957 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand vehicles delivered worldwide in May, the group recorded a 6.4 percent increase over the same month last year, achieving its best-ever May sales result.
