Frankfurt Show: Skoda Fabia Scout Study

We gathered up a few pictures of the Fabia Scout concept that is expected to go into production by mid-2008. Basically a Fabia Combi in off-road trim, the Scout features large cladding sections in the bodywork and slightly raised ground clearance. There’s no all-wheel-drive system but if we were forced with a gun in our head to buy a Combi, the Scout would definitely be the one we’d choose. -More pictures after the jump

Frankfurt Show: Skoda To Unveil Fabia Greenline & Estate Scout Concpets

Alongside the new Fabia Estate (pictured above), Skoda announced today that it will also premiere two design studies at the forthcoming Frankfurt Show: the Fabia Greenline and the Fabia Estate Scout. Though VW’s subsidiary avoided getting into any details, apparently the eco-friendly Fabia Greenline that boasts an avg. fuel consumption of 69 UK mpg (4,1 lt/100 km or 57.4 US mpg) and 110g/km of C02 is powered by a diesel engine –something like VW’s Bluemotion lineup. As for the Fabia Estate Scout, similar to the Roomster and Octavia Scout, the front wheel-drive crossover concept will bear body mouldings in order to look a bit rough. Expect the Fabia Estate Scout to go into production sometime in 2008. -Teaser release after the jump

ŠKODA AT THE 2007 IAA FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW

All-new spacious Fabia Estate makes international debut

Economical Fabia Greenline design study to be unveiled

It’s all go for Škoda at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. The Czech manufacturer will be showcasing an all-new model, a design study and a concept car on its Hall 3 stand.

Breaking cover for the first time will be the new Škoda Fabia Estate, with its impressive 1,460-litre loading area (seats folded). Over 630,000 examples of the previous generation model were sold worldwide, and with the choice of six engines and a typically affordable price tag, the new model will doubtless be similarly popular.

Alongside the load-lugger will be the Fabia Greenline. The design study – intended to highlight Škoda’s ability to produce economical, environmentally-friendly vehicles – boasts around 69mpg combined and 110g/km of CO2. Showgoers will also have the chance to Czech out the Fabia Estate Scout concept car. Similar in styling to both the Roomster and Octavia Scout, the latest concept is two-wheel drive and features stylish body mouldings.

The Škoda Auto press conference is at 11:40 on Tuesday the 11th of September. Further details on all stand vehicles will be available from the UK press team on both press days.
