Mercedes-Benz USA Details its 2013 Model Year Introductions and Updates


There is plenty of news coming our way from Mercedes-Benz, as the German premium automaker's U.S. division has released detailed information about its 2013 model year lineup.

On the brand-new model front, we have the next GL-Class 7-seat crossover that goes on sale in September with a choice of four engines including a 240hp V6 diesel, while the range-topping GL65 AMG with 550hp will follow early next year.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Driver Rams Into Audi 80 Again and Again…


Who knows what goes on inside the minds of some people when they snap, crackle and pop, but whatever it is, it is better to stay as far as possible if you cherish your safety, which is something that the person filming this video did.

For some reason, the driver of a black Mercedes-Benz E-Class saloon in Latvia had a thing with a parked Audi 80 (or its owner) smashing into it several times. See what happened in the clip that follows below the break.

Scoop: 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class to Get a Brand New Face


Mercedes-Benz is buffing up its popular E-Class series for its first facelift since the W212 made its debut in 2009. Our man with the long lens scooped a camouflaged prototype of the Estate model (codenamed S212), which will sport the same styling updates as the sedan variant.

These spy shots suggest that the 2013 model year E-Class will gain a new face that does away with the quad-headlamps that have been a trademark feature of the series since the mid-1990s W210.

Instead, the refreshed model will sport single headlight units that incorporate the current E-Class' separate LED daytime running lights along with a more three-dimensional front grille and a new bumper design.

Mercedes & Smart Diesel Models Travel from LA to Detroit Show to Demonstrate Their Fuel-Saving Qualities

Mercedes-Benz USA organized a long distance test with two Smart Fortwo cdis (45 HP) and a Mercedes E 320 BLUETEC (US version) from Los Angeles to the Detroit Auto Show in order to demonstrate the fuel-saving qualities of diesel-powered models in everyday real-world conditions.

Media representatives from Germany, Italy and the US took turns at the wheel of the three cars during the 2,740 mile (4,400 km) long route managing to record an average consumption of 60.3 mpg (3.9 lt/100km) with the two Smart Fortwo cdis and 40.6 mpg (5.8 l/100 km) with the E 320 BLUETEC sedan that’s equipped with a 224 HP strong 3.0l V6 diesel unit. -Image gallery after the jump

Mercedes-Benz E-Class… Hanging Out At Moscow Airport

We have no clue whatsoever to as what the advertisement says, but if anything else, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class hanging above our head would definitely grab our attention if we ever happened to visit the Moscow airport. Just for the record, it is unclear whether the promotional E-Class is actually a real-life model or just simply a lightweight plastic replica. -One more pic after the jump
