Yep, it’s another production hybrid model from Mercedes-Benz. Only this time the S 300 BLUETEC HYBRID combines a BLUETEC diesel engine with hybrid technology instead of a petrol-hybrid system like the ML 450 HYBRID that we showed you yesterday. We’re not sure if this is a typo-mistake or not, but Mercedes announces in its teaser release that the S 300 BLUETEC HYBRID is powered by a 4-cylinder diesel engine. Anyway, the diesel- hybrid module develops a combined system output of 165 kW / 224 hp and a maximum torque of 560 Nm. Its avg. fuel consumption is just 5.4 litres of diesel per 100 km (43.6 mpg) - equivalent to just 142 grams of CO2 per kilometre ‑ 57 grams or around 30 percent less than the current consumption and emissions benchmark in the S‑Class segment.
